This course is designed for people who would like to practice Raynor Massage at a professional level.  It is an introductory course and prerequisite for all other Raynor Massage Courses. It is a combination of our online course plus our 5 day hands-on seminar. We recommend that you take the free preview for our online course first to see if this course is for you.

Previous Experience

Students come to our courses from a variety of backgrounds. Regardless if you have massage experience because you’ve studied another massage modality or you come with no experience and this course will be your first attempt at massage, this course is designed to be inclusive.

People taking the course who have massage experience will have some advantage because they already have hands-on experience. Due to this, they are confident working with people’s bodies. Equally, those without any experience have the advantage that they do not have to unlearn any techniques as they begin to work with the unique form of Raynor Massage. Our teachers will work with you from wherever you start. Whether this is your first massage or you have been in the industry for years, by the end of the course we expect you to be able to give an effective Raynor Treatment and we will support you in that developmental process.

Course Requirements

We intentionally do not set entry requirements other than being over the age of 18 (16 and 17 year olds can apply with parental permission), having a desire to learn and to heal through massage, and also a reasonable understanding of English. Course Structure

Students can develop their skills at an accelerated pace, with both online video and text content along with practical in-class learning.

If you have a good working knowledge of the English language and a desire to learn, the online aspect of the course will take approximately 40 hours to complete at your own home. To ensure the best outcomes, you will have unlimited access to watch and re-watch video demonstrations and massage along with the instructor. After you have completed the online portion of the course then you can attend our 5-day hands-on seminar in any of the locations where they are being taught. The practical aspects of the course will allow you to view massage demonstrations in person, receive and practice all techniques you have learned in the course with the instructor’s tutor and feedback. Whether you are a visual, tactile, practical, slow or fast learner, the combination of the online and practical application will allow students to have a a solid foundation to massage competently and effectively.

What You Will Learn

Drawing on thirty years of hands-on experience and his extensive study of worldwide massage traditions, Brandon Raynor developed Raynor Massage, a unique style of massage designed to find and eliminate residual tension in the body.

In this course, you will quickly begin to learn and practice Raynor Massage. The overall goal of this massage style is the total release of residual tension in the muscles of the body. Raynor Massage draws on holistic understandings of the interconnectedness of body, mind and soul as well as working on muscular tension.  Our bodies hold tension in muscles for all kinds of reasons; everyday stress, sports training, injuries, bad postural habits like hours spent hunched over the keyboard, problems experienced at work or home. Our muscles can hold all these things which can lead to problems of residual tension and pain. Left untreated, this tension can lead to long term problems both physically and in our mental and emotional well-being.

As a trained Raynor Massage practitioner you can have a positive effect on people’s health by helping to reduce muscular tension, pain and any unresolved emotions that may be underpinning it.  It also opens up the channels or meridians through which the chi or prana (life force) flows. Raynor Massage includes detailed massage of the hands and feet, joint adjustments, as well as working on traditional muscles and fascia of the body. Your clients will leave this massage with a relaxed body and mind because they feel re-balanced. Often people say they feel more at peace and re-energised after a Raynor Massage. This is because Raynor Massage has at its heart the belief that every person you massage will be different and have different needs, therefore there can be no one set massage routine that will work for everyone. In our short and intensive training course, you will learn how to massage using this holistic and very powerful technique and make the massage suit the person rather than learning a routine where people have to suit the routine.

How You Can Use Your Raynor Massage Certificate

You can use your Raynor Massage Certificate to work from someone or to set up your own business as a Raynor Massage Therapist or Raynor Bodywork therapist. You can get fully insured after completing the course in the locations mentioned below.

Where Can I Practice Professionally

After completion of this course you will be able to practice professionally and get insured to set up your own business or work for someone else. However, always check your local requirements and laws as to whether you can practice after completing this course. At the time of writing, this course enables you to practice in all of Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Canada (as long as you do not use the title “massage therapist” in some provinces), and in several states in the US such as Minnesota, Vermont, Wyoming, Kansas and Oklahoma.  With certain restrictions or change of terminology to use words like “bodywork”, graduates can also practice in Illinois. Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, New Hampshire (possibly), Oregon (feet and hands only) and Arizona.

The course is a very thorough approach to the foundations of Raynor Massage. It will teach you all that you need to know to get started in your new career as a Raynor Naturopathic Bodywork Therapist.

Career Outcomes

The Certificate level is enough to allow you to get started and begin to practice massage professionally all around the world. Most importantly, about 80% of our students go on to start their own business and become successfully self-employed. Graduates have the ability to join our private Facebook Group whereby you will access to support and resources from instructors and other graduates from around the world. Many graduates have private clinics or do mobile massage, work for sports clubs or have gyms, partner with chiropractors or doctors. Some even chose to specialise in hands and feet massage or do it in conjunction with their existing modalities like reiki, rebirthing or crystal healing. While others decide to learn for the sake of helping their family and friends recover from injuries and chronic tension. Whether you’re seeking to learn Raynor Massage to start a career full time or part time or wanting to add another skill to your existing repertoire, the possibilities of helping others are endless.

Upgrade to Our Other Massage Courses

Most students completing the Raynor Massage Certificate course decide to progress onto our other courses so that they can learn more advanced techniques and further develop their skills. This also allows them to add treatments such as aromatherapy, reflexology and joint movement techniques into their practice. Other students, especially those newer to massage, choose to gain more experience first and then return to study for our highest level qualification, the Advanced Practitioners Certification. Students can also study the  courses in different countries enabling them to combine training with holidays and travel, which can enrich your experience even more. Study With Your Hands

Our hands-on component of the course is taught in a group of no more than 18 students per teacher. The hands on component of the course usually run from 8 am to 6 pm with a 1 hour break for lunch. Sometimes they also have an introductory evening before the course.

This powerful form of massage is taught in a unique way that encourages you to be a part of the teaching process. Along with the expert tutor input and observing your teacher at work, you will be massaged and be massaging from day one of the course. You will also pair with partners of different body types and be presented with different ‘problem areas’ so that you are equipped to deal with a range of clients on completion of your course. We do not teach by asking you to rote learn charts and diagrams, rather we teach you how to feel tension. You can then track where it is held in the body and we will show you how to clear it.

You do not need to learn the Latin names of muscles and body parts, we believe it is more important to find and eliminate tension in the body than be able to give it its scientific name. Some of our students go on to read further after the course because they would like to continue their development and we can give guidance for this if it’s wanted. It is not, however, essential to you becoming a good Raynor Therapist.

Our Teachers Use A Practical Approach

A hands-on approach is the way massage has been taught for millennia. Today, massage has been ‘medicalised’ and can disregard life force and the power of healing touch and intuition. Your teacher will be on hand to offer advice and guidance. They demonstrate and empower you to be able to develop your own massage skills because this is the best way to learn. We want you to know that your teacher will be available at all times to guide, coach and answer questions.

All of our teachers have trained under Brandon Raynor and continue to develop their own skills as teachers and practitioners by their ongoing work with Brandon. Each instructor brings their own experience and backgrounds to their classes and all are existing practitioners, dealing with clients on a regular basis. You cannot get this training at your local college and you cannot do it online. This is hands on training taught by people who have developed their art and whose role is to pass it onto you and help you develop your massage. All of our teachers are appointed directly by Brandon Raynor to ensure that the quality of teaching and training is of the highest standard.

Fee Structure

The Raynor Massage Certificate Course fee varies from country to country due to the costs of venue hire, teachers travel costs and accommodation.

Demand for course places is high because we cap the number of students for each course at 20 per teacher. We recommend early booking in order to secure your place.
