Massage Courses in Grand Prairie, AB
Raynor Massage is a very unique style of massage that is probably quite different from any other type of massage you may have experienced before. It is based on the best massage techniques from around the world, and designed to get rid of the deepest layers of tension.
Start Your New Career
Our courses are much shorter than the 2 or 3 years needed to get a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) qualification. The practical nature of our courses, however, mean that they are a wise investment that will get you practicing in your new career as soon as possible. Raynor massage teaches you how to understand the root causes of tension and be able to massage therapeutically at a level equal to or greater than graduates of the RMT colleges. We focus our training on feeling tension in the body and giving the best massages possible rather than dedicating most of your class time to memorizing Latin names of muscles.
Learn Practical Skills
Whether it’s the Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma Course, all of our courses focus on practical skills. Generally speaking, our students spend 80% of class hours practicing, receiving and observing massage. We spend the remaining 20% discussing the theory of Raynor massage and other subjects. These include hygiene, professional ethics, contraindications, the theory of hand and foot reflexology and the qualities of different aromatherapy oils.
Our students don’t just learn to massage the common parts of the body, such as the neck, back, arms and legs. We believe that it’s important that you learn the significance of massaging less common areas, such as the abdomen. Japanese medicine considers the abdomen to be the hara, or centre, of a human being. Therefore, abdominal massage can bring positive effects to the clients physical and emotional well being.
Get Accredited & Insured
Our courses are accredited with the International Institute for Complementary Therapies, and the International Natural Therapies Association. In Alberta, there is currently no regulation around who can use terms such as “massage therapist” although there is a campaign to introduce regulation. After completing our courses, you can practice massage therapy and get insurance.
