Similar to shiatsu and Thai massage, Raynor massage does not require proficiency in anatomical and physiological terms as emphasized in Western countries. Rather massage techniques are applied to merdians, sien lines or Raynor Bands that are found throughout the body. Each of these massage modalities require a massage therapist to tune into the natural rhythms of the body, to feel subtle energy channels and understand the balance of elements in the body. However, introductory knowledge of anatomy and physiology can only enhance your massage skills. We highly recommend this course for our past or previous students who wish to:
- gain insight as to why certain areas of the body are prone to getting tight or injured
- learn the layout of bones, muscles and organs to reduce the possibility of injuries
- have a better understanding of the abdominal cavity so they give better abdominal massage
- communicate efficiently and effectively with other healthcare professionals
- to enhance your wholistic education
Learning Outcomes
You will have a greater understanding of the intricacies and interconnections of the human body and the sum of its parts. This awareness of anatomy and physiology will provide you with a good foundation to make optimal decisions on diet, posture, mobility, and overall health and function.
