Corruption at the Office of the Health Ombudsman Qld

Brandon Raynor Versus the Office of The Health Ombudsman and its Dirty Tricks Campaign

Public Statement from Brandon Raynor

In Response to Unjust and Retrospective Actions by the Office of the Health Ombudsman (OHO)

Over the course of my 35-year career as a natural health practitioner and massage educator, I have dedicated myself to helping people live pain-free, healthier lives using time-honoured deep tissue massage and holistic techniques. Thousands of clients and students have benefited from my work around the world—without harm, and often with life-changing results.

Unfortunately, I am now the subject of a disturbing and unjust campaign by the Office of the Health Ombudsman (OHO), which has chosen to pursue regulatory action against me in a manner that I believe is not only unethical, but potentially unlawful.

 The Core Issues:

  • Their chief expert witness, under oath, admitted that I was not performing any proscribed or banned technique.
  • Despite this, the case was not dismissed. Instead, the OHO and the tribunal judge appeared to collude to change the legal interpretation of the law retroactively, to target techniques I have used safely for decades.
  • This shocking abuse of process undermines legal fairness, natural justice, and the fundamental rule of law in a democratic society.
  • Worse still, the justification used by the judge involved a hypocritical double standard—acknowledging that medically-trained practitioners are allowed to perform high-risk procedures without proper training but saying that it was not his position to change the law about this, while targeting me despite zero evidence of harm and a demonstrated track record of safety and professionalism.

 Why This Matters:

This is not just about me. This is about all alternative health practitioners in Australia and beyond who could be subject to retrospective regulation, shifting goalposts, and bureaucratic overreach—even after decades of safe practice. It’s also about patients and clients who deserve access to safe, effective alternatives to pharmaceutical or invasive medical procedures.

My Response:

  • I am actively pursuing legal avenues to challenge this decision and expose the procedural irregularities at the heart of the OHO’s actions.
  • I will continue to teach, treat, and advocate for the freedom of natural therapies, within the boundaries of the law.
  • I invite anyone who has received benefit from my work—clients, students, and colleagues—to speak out, share testimonials, and stand up for integrity and choice in healthcare.

Thank You

To all those who have supported me during this time: your encouragement means more than you know. The work we do is bigger than any one case, and I remain committed to standing strong against injustice, and advocating for fair and honest regulation in our field.
