In life, the ability to shift one’s course in a dynamic, uplifting and meaningful way in only two weeks, is a rarely encountered opportunity. As a Registered Massage Therapist with an abundance of experience supporting those overcoming emotional pain and trauma Yasir Syed is uniquely qualified to declare that the Raynor Massage Training is unparalleled. His perspective on its profound impacts motivates Yasir to share these philosophies and techniques with students of all walks, from all corners.

Yasir’s studies into natural healing began in the late 1900s when he completed his Honours Degree in Philosophy at the University of Alberta.  Starting in 2000 Yasir managed homes serving youths and adults with developmental barriers. In 2010 he packed up his Jeep to tour the West Coast of North America and, at this time, first heard about the two-week Diploma Course in Raynor Naturopathic Massage being offered in his home city of Edmonton.  After graduating from the Edmonton 2010 Diploma class led by Terry Masson, Yasir went on to open a home business as a massage specialist.  In 2011, Yasir continued pursuing a diploma in Registered Massage Therapy, graduating from the Turner Institute of Orthopedic Massage with a 2200 Hour Diploma in 2013.

After three years working at the Edmonton General Hospital and Edmonton based Moksha Yoga Studio as a Registered Massage Therapist, Yasir returned to his alma mater, the University of Alberta, to take a position as a Cognitive Strategy Instructor for Student Accessibility Services.

In 2018, while pursuing a Master’s Degree in Communications, Yasir conceived the notion of a Wellness Studio focusing on servicing trauma and emotional pain, and in February 2019 Anahata Wellness Studio was born. Later in 2019, Yasir had the opportunity to train as an Instructor for Raynor Naturopathic Massage with the amazing team of Canadian instructors and in September of 2019 Yasir took the Advanced Raynor Diploma in London. The great privilege of meeting Dave Taylor and Brandon Raynor ensued.  After meeting Brandon, and working closely with him during the advanced course, Yasir returned to Canada as the newest member of the Canadian Raynor Instructors team.  His first class was held in November of 2019 at the newly renovated Raynor Treatment and Training Center, Anahata Wellness, in Edmonton, AB.

Yasir currently holds the position of Principal Director at Anahata Wellness, where he practices Registered Massage Therapy with a specialization in Raynor Naturopathic Massage and instructs Raynor Certificate and Diploma courses on an ongoing basis.  Yasir is also currently managing all course offerings throughout Canada from Anahata Wellness, a unique space that has been designed and developed to suit the needs of Raynor Courses and Treatments, with the thoughtfulness and warmth required for such vulnerable work. Yasir looks forward to sharing this life changing practice with you soon.
